You will take on the characteristics of those you often hang around so if your buddies aren’t as focused on success as you want to be yourself, than you will not find the motivation you need in order to dominate in your business..

There is nothing wrong with going out for a good time but be mindful of where the majority of your time is spent..

Planning is essential to success and as the old saying goes, nobody plans to fail but most people fail to plan. Don’t just completely shoot from the hip. Instead have at least a loose outline of what you want to accomplish.

Nobody else is going to hold you accountable to your goals and aspirations so get accustomed to doing it yourself. Try writing down your goals to accomplish every day and checking them off as you go. Don’t go to sleep at night until you have given 100% effort to accomplish everything on your list..

Focus less on how to turn a profit and more on how you can solve problems. When you can solve someone else’s problem, they will happily pay you for it..

I’m not knocking school entirely but stay away from Masters degrees in business because they are designed to teach you how to manage people for someone else, not help you start your own business..

Get a mentor that can push you to step outside of your comfort zones. And make sure that your mentor has some tangible success. They don’t have to be Bill Gates but if all they have is a big talk than you need to find someone who can walk the walk.

Focus on the good not the bad. There is going to be an awful lot of bumps in the road along the way and you just have to keep smiling and understand that every bump is a learning experience then move on..

Create a vision that projects 4 – 8 years out. What will you be doing? Will you have employees? Will you be giving to charity?

A lot of people are going to try to talk you into branding them along the way. Don’t brand others, brand yourself..

Plan less and act more. Yes you should have a plan but you have to know when to stop planning and start acting because you’ll never be able to see all of the obstacles that will come your way.

Take the time to immerse yourself in study. Watch, read and listen to everything you can get your hands on that could potentially make you better in what you are trying to accomplish. Give a few minutes of your time to this every day..

Don’t reinvent the wheel, most likely whatever you want to do has already had many of the steps on the journey already done by someone else. Learn from other people’s successes and mistakes.

Self-Promote the heck out of yourself, your business, and your service or product. This doesn’t mean to spam or brag but don’t be afraid to let people know there is a problem out there and you have a solution!
